    Question 1. What is meant by Sustainable Development?

    Answer. Sustainable development means developing without harming the environment and at the same time how to use the resources so that the present needs are also met and the resources are saved for future future generations as well.

    Question 2. What is meant by resource conservation?

    Answer. Conservation of resources is an urgent need of the present time, it means that natural resources should be planned and used in such a way that these resources are properly utilized and are not wasted.

    Question 3. What is a renewable resource?

    Answer. Such resources are called renewable resources which can be used again and again by physical, mechanical and chemical processes in a given period of time and can be produced again. Examples of this are solar energy, wind energy etc.

    Question 4. What is meant by soil erosion?

    Answer. When the soil is no longer cultivable, it is called soil erosion.

    Question 5. What do you understand by resource planning?

    Answer. Resource planning is to find out the resources present in the country, find out the quantity of reserves and make efficient use of it to meet the human needs.

    Answer. In order to increase the productivity of the crop and to maintain the fertility of the land, when different crops are grown on a piece of land, it is called crop rotation.

    Question 24. State two main features of Indian agriculture.

    Answer. The two main features of Indian agriculture are as follows -

    1. Most of the farmers in India have small pieces of land and from this they are able to produce only for their own use.

    2. Most of the farmers depend on monsoon.

    3. Animals play an important role in various types of agricultural activities.

    Question 25. What do you understand by soil erosion?

    Answer. When the top layer of soil is moved from one place to another by natural or human factors, it is called soil erosion.
